where the animal lives, what it eats, and how it looks, etc…
(Use the Rainforest Animals and Animal Photos Library to
enhance their projects)

kids find average lengths and weights of some rainforest
animals and compare to themselves (draw pictures for them to
aid in understanding)

Show children where the
Amazon Rainforest is on a map; List countries where
rainforest are I think this is in the Kapok Tree book); make
posters saying why we should not destroy the rainforests
|

|
Scholastic News: Look
Inside a Rain Forest

Make Flip-Flap Booklets
(booklets made so you can see different layers) and label
each page with each of the 4 layers of the rainforest; draw
an animal and a plant that lives in each layer

Make a sheet of
rainforest animal clip art; Have students cut out each
square and sort the animals into 4 groups (mammals, birds,
reptiles, and insects); glue to construction paper
